    I some questions.
    1. I was looking at the Declarations page of the WW2N and it states that the U.S. declared war on Germany. Correct me if I am wrong but was it not Germany that declared war on the U.S.?

    2. At the end of the war, a lot of countries from S. America and the middle east started to declare war on Germany. Does anybody know what their contribution to the war effort was?

    PzJgr,

Thanks for noticing the new info.

Yo are right about number 1, but I'm sure both nations, (Germany and the US), did declare war on each other. I'll look into it and post proper info.

As for number 2, I have no idea how helpful hey were.

Hitler declared war on the US on Deceber 8th 1941, and the US declared war on the Axis nations on the 11th, I believe.
As for the contributions of South American nations, only Mexico and Brazil sent troops I think. Mexico had a fighter squadron in the pacific theater and Brazil sent an expeditionary force of 60000 to fight in Italy.
I believe there is a site about the Brazilians, but I forgot the URL, I will try and find it and then post it here.

Dear Miro, thanks for this stuff. I was totally unaware that Brazil sent so many overseas. I knew they had some people in Italy, and I think also an armored unit in France, but never thought they sent so mony troops.

As I live very close to the border with Mexico, I have heard about them contributing a suqadron of fighters, but thats about all I have ever heard.

Wow, thats something I havent thought about in probably 15 years or more.

Yep, I also ran across the site by accident, and certainly was stunned to find this out. An Allied formation this big, on a comparatively small piece of front, and nobody had ever heard of it.
I wonder if there is a website that lists every single nations involvement in the war. I would seriously be interested to see that.

I believe Brazil sent a fighter squadron to Italy.

And Argentina was still feeding a lot of brits.

In fact, Brazil sended a group of fighters to Italy (all P-47 Thunderbolts), known here as "Senta a Púa" Group, and the Army helped to conquer Monte Castello in Italy too.
The motive of the delay to enter in the war was the fact that Brazilian president at that time was Getulio Vargas, had no position defined and was not a Democratic Government. The city of Natal at Northeast of Brazil was a USA air base.

Here is a site with some pictures and information about the Brazilian "Senta a Pua", the Fighter Group, at Italy: http://www.sentaapua.hpg.com.br/

and here the Chronology of the Brazilian participation at WW2 http://www.sentaapua.hpg.com.br/brasil.htm

It is in portuguese, but if you want some translation or information about the FEB
    (Força Expedicionária Brasileira), the army,
    ask me.
