Some entertaining stuff on there, the YF23 is nice but not sure about the weird Phantom thing, not so much a 'what if' as a 'what the???'

    Interesting stuff, Miguel -

... a couple of links and a bit of Googling also found this alternative modeling site

The What-If and Oddball Modeling Page

A couple of my personal faves:

    The B-17 Motorhome

    The Gloster Goatsucker

and The IJN Aircraft Carrier SCRUYU, camoflaged to look like an island, no less (hey, there's no way I could make this stuff up!.... besides, somebody else already did!)

    Thanks for the fun thread!

Craig, this isn't the first time your "creations" have appeared on discussion boards. I seem to recall his eminence Admiral Furashita quoted in a discussion on Japanese warships, battles etc., the forum was confused, not having heard of these ships, but not unaccepting - hilarious!

Here's Admiral Furashita's Catamaran Aircraft Carrier (CVLV) Nibai

On a modelling site I recently found an "Italian" trimotor early jet fighter that resembled something I had made decades earlier (I named it, tongue-in-cheek, the "Caproni Bologna"). I posted a picture of *MY* completely fictitious-but-inventive version, and the other guy said that *MY* version was mentioned (and my same photograph included) in a published book of serious study of early jet aircraft (from where he got the inspiration to build his model). I bought the book, and, sure enough, there was a pic of *MY* model and an "explanation" saying it was Italy's first jet fighter project!! I was aghast! (AFTER I quit laughing!) Pretty shoddy "research". The site from which the author grabbed my model photo had a "mailto" with my e-mail in it, and he not only did NOT bother to find out any more about this unusual "aircraft", but didn't get my permission to use my photo. If he didn't get the hint in the very NAME of the aircraft ("Baloney"), he at least should have tried to substantiate my "research" to try to authenticate the aircraft project. I *MIGHT* be fuming if I could stop laughing!!!

BTW, the massively over-gunned "Avenger" model in the opening post was done by a buddy of mine, "Sotoolslinger". He is not known for subtlety in his whiffs!
