Not sure if this is the right place to put this. I had to keep a few of my rifles stored in less than ideal conditions. (extreme temp changes) My Turkish Mauser`s stock appears to have sap bleeding through it all over. Little dots all over it. What would be the best way to remove this without ruining the finish on the stock? Anyone else have this happen to any of their guns? Thanks, Bill
Bill, Are you sure that is sap and not cosmolene? Cosmolene gets soaked into some stocks and runs when its hot, it's happened to my shooters when I've left them in the car in the sun at the range. Peter
Hello Peter, Thank you for the reply. It could well be. It is sticky as heck though and a golden color. Thought about putting it out in the sun on a good hot day to see what would happen.
