I just purchased a German helmet and need to know if it is real. The guy is selling his collection and his story for this is that he got it at a fleaht market sale in Germany, and it was rusty so he repainted with black to stop rust heres the links to the pictures he took.

as i said the paint is not original and was painted a while ago to stop rust and there are some concussion cracks, one on the top and on the side one that looks like a bullet hole but its just a crack.

This must easily be the most-asked-militaria-question of 2008 on this forum....;)

I think it's a helmet that the fireman used just after world war two.If there are little holes on the side of the helmet i'm sure it's one used by the fireman.
