Thanks krieg! My scanner died on me and my digital camera can not take good close up shots. Was hoping to get one with better detail on the pin. Oh well, will have to convince the wife we need a new scanner!!

Hi 36thVA, your Black Wound Badge is the real deal. I have several of them myself ;-)) Is yours maker-marked? not that it has to be? just curious. None of my BWBs are-only my silver and gold ones are.

Hi 36th/ sorry I had not seen this before to reply but, if you want to see if it's maker-marked or not-as far as I know-look at the backside of the helmet. Also, if you paid less than $40 for it, you got a pretty good deal.

The first one I ever bought, was from Blackcrossmilitaria.com and was for $35 bucks. This one retains all it's paint cept for the swaz-which the soldier scraped the paint off in order for the swax to shine. I paid $35 bucks for this one about 11 years ago-which was too much but, I liked the looks of it with the personalization and all.
