I know, right away, that this thread will either be ignored, or doubt cast upon the idea, but I actually ask this in pure curiousity and honesty.

I sought out this board because, sometimes in my dreams, I see places I've never been. I'm 99.99% sure that I was a World War 2 pilot in an earlier life.

One recurrent image is seeing an oval harbor from flying above. Another that sticks with me, I'm flying a dive bomber (I look over my left shoulder to see other crew members in the plane), and I'm pulling away from a brown building with a red spanish tile roof. The building is close to a beach.

I had to attend a class at what had been a World War 2 airfield and I had a powerful sense of deja vu. That night I dreamed of walking along a sidewalk where green cars, 1940 vintage, are lined up.

I actually sought out this board because of this. Anyone else have this dilemma (you can pm me if you want)?

This is kind of a curious thing. A good friend of mine has a Son who is about 25 or so years old. This kid is the splitting image of Howard Hughes at the same age. And no-I aint joking-it is true.

As for your dreams-im no expert at this kind of stuff but, back when I used to do lots of volunteer work for various agencies, I met quite a few folks who had dreams like yours.

Your post is now officially UN-ignored ;-))

I believe it's only natural to get "into" things, and quite literally in your dreams (day dreams). Many times depending upon what has occupied your time....recently, or influenced your yesterday/tomorrow.
    Movies, songs, events, books, places.
I find when I experience, well, memorable things, I carry/keep them in mind for a while, and as a bi-product (a good one), I sleep well.
I've (for me) put this together as dreaming (REM sleep) about "whatever" effected my thoughts. Some last a while, but soon enough they all go-away and more stimulus is needed....."Input".
It's a good thing to dream in "La La" Land, (life is kinda laborious), just come back when you wake up. :D

FYI-these dreams happened at night, when I was in deep REM's, and were intense enough to wake me. Most of these dreams happened when I was a kid and had been very few places.

Everyone (especially children)(probably because they talk of them free-er), have dreams and/or nightmares. One of the reasons they came up with (bad) dream catchers/nite-lites.
My point (with me) is the more you think about something(s), the more likely you are to dream about it/them. There have been times when I purposely go to sleep thinking about things I know will put me under (and not sheep counting). I need something busier than that, something insurmountable that will tire me.
Past lives, another Planet, distant future, imminent death of you or another, vacation spots, winning the Lottery, being Caesar, a Rock/Movie Star, war Hero, no matter what the choice is....it's all the same.
Strife or joy as a motivation, and a desire to repeat/relive something you see as wrong or confusing in an attempt to understand, and find peace.
    "Sleep"
There has to be something "put" in a brain, for the "Brain" to imagine exacerbated alternatives to the reality of that something. Computers do nothing but standby, without input.
Many "critters/insects/fish/birds" are born with inherent knowledge/immunities, and perhaps (and in many ways) we are to.
I don't know if I would call this a past life, but I suppose one could. I don't believe we have to be the past to learn from it.

    interesting conversation!

I admit that i've had dreams of Heather and I as a married couple. One dream I had, had the both of us walking down a caliche dirt road somewhere in the Hill Country near San Antonio. We simply were just enjoying the walk and holding hands. Well, some particular scenery I remembered seeing (in the dream) is some scenery I saw that was near the small town of Lago, TX, on our way to Bandera. My heart skipped a beat or two when I saw a section of road between hills, that was made up of caliche dirt-rocks boulders etc-and saw a man and woman-about Heathers and mines builds-walking down this road hand in hand, and the scenery I had in my dream; looked almost exactly like what I saw in my dream. Get this, I have never been near or through Lago, TX before nor have I ever seen any photo's of the area.

Had I previously been thinking much about Heather-you bet! ;-)) however, I do not recall thinking of much else (dealing with places I was traveling through) other than Houston and San Antonio. The scenery around Houston is much different than it is around San Antonio.

Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed my dream walking down a dusty road hand in hand with Heather. The dream ended after we arrived at her older Sisters (Susan) house.

In my childhood I was always interested in Native Americans then when I was about 12 or so I started to write stories and got some books out of the library for references, as I read these books I felt I recognised their culture, beliefs, history, places, people names, the more books I got the same thing happened everything felt so familiar and comfortable. Then one day at school the teacher asked us to name a place in the world we would most like to go, well my friends were saying the usual things US, Australia etc., the teacher stopped and asked me and I said " To where the battle of the Little Bighorn took place" I was surprised as my teacher was that I said that and that was about 40 years ago now and my answer would be still the same. Although I've not been able to go there physically I have in my mind's eye so to speak.

P's Although I researched many different peoples it was always the Lahkota sioux and the oglala that seemed to be the unconsious focus of my attention.

Ever meet a six year old who talks like they're forty? I was one of those kids, and I've met kids like that. I really believe there are are old souls and new souls. I think the old souls were sent to look after and guide the new souls.

I hope you help your son develop his talent. Believing in old souls, I think he probably has other talents.

Little Big Horn is a place with an "imprint" on it. That you would be drawn there is interesting. I wonder if you were Cavalry, or something else.

For some reason I know I wasn't with the cavalry another unexplained feeling.
I do think places can have imprints, I have quite a collection of WW1 books on reading about the large loss of life at practically the same moment in time and the emotions I am positive that the landscape would have some sort of scar.

I moved into an old victorian house in England which had a a ghost though I never saw it physcially I had the usual lights and music on, locked doors open, item's hidden used to drive my ex nuts lol, one place I couldn't go was the cellar, whatever it was didn't frighten me or my cats I thought it was the elderly brother and sister who passed away in the house before I moved in. When we were packing up to move into our next house we never found anything that went missing.

Something i would like to add is that 5 years ago next week my dad passed away after a complication following a bowel cancer operation he died before i could get to the hospital. Two years ago on christmas day he appeared in my sisters kitchen didnt speak just smiled a smile as if to say all will be ok first point my sister lives in australia second point she also was not with him when he died. When dad was laying in rest at the undertakers i my fiance (who was pregnant with our daughter cerys she was born 6 months later) as she was then and my four sisters and stepmum all visited my dad 2-3 times prior to the cremation my sisters and stepmum all gave him a kiss and said goodbye or just chatted to him i never said goodbye and could not why? because dad was not there? or because i was scared or maybe i was pissed of that he was taken before cerys was born.As i said before wierd things i cant explian have happened to me i have had a tarot card reading where i was told and realised moments in my life to come or that had happened or would happen yet nothing about my dad, who was alive at the time yet when he appeared in my sisters kitchen why i ask did he not appear to me guess what i dont know but i wont dismiss it, same as lots of people did not, dismiss man landing on the moon. Man did land on the moon didnt he;)

Arthur C Clarke's conclusion on Reincarnation was (-2) almost certainly untrue.

I read his book called the World of Strange Powers and even saw the series back in the 80's. I did not believe it then and still don't today or ever will, sorry I see no firm evidence what so ever on this subject.

Looking forward to the next strange subject if anyone would like to start a thread on one. ;)

I fail to fall into the ranks of those who won't believe merely because there is no 'logical' explanation. There are many things in life that we as man cannot explain. That does not mean these things don't exist. I believe the possiblility that there are some people (not all) who may have lived another life in the past.

There are dreams I have had in my early years that are way too vivid and accurate for me to have known such things. I have encountered photos or have actually seen and touched these things, events or places and were just as I had seen them. Dejavu? Reincarnation? Who knows, but I know what I know. So, yes, I believe reincarnation exists.

In this situation there is no black or white in so far as science not being able to prove that reincarnation exist is only valid for the present time and relevant to the methods used at the time, we cannot say what will happen in the future and as science is ongoingly progressive who is to say what will be developed in the future.

I have watched Arthur C Clarke many times and feel he is closed minded
I think some people get a right bee in their bonnet when it comes to reincarnatiion etc., I do not see that harm in having our own beliefs and chatting to liked minded people and there are many peoples of the world who sincerely believe this and it is interwoven in their culture. Just because we have "science" on our side would that justify us going up to them and saying Excuse me but all you've believed in for centuries is a load of twaddle"

I will always remain opened minded when it comes to reincarnation and ghosts etc., and my own personal experiences I've had over the years has made me think there is more out there can be explained.

Sorry I've rambled on, guess it's my Scottish nature!

    KInd regards

I fail to see that, A.C.C time and time again has been very open minded on the subject of UFO's. I was never persuaded by A.C.C as I held that point of view long before I read his book, as for science I will leave you with this great remark.

    The Prisoner
    Episode 5 The Schizoid Man

No.6 "The trouble with science is it can be perverted."

I go on good old fashion gut instinct and both sides have not reinforced or changed my mind to date.
