I found it almost by accident !! Fact Sheets : Stearman XA-21 (Streamlined Cockpit) : Stearman XA-21 (Streamlined Cockpit) Stearman XA-21
Well, I found this one: And it was referred to as Unknow Aircraft (Probably homebuilt) ...Other info: Wing Derringer The photo above is from Torrence CA airport. I like the color scheme in your pix better, TA152! BTW, I went to the movies last week right across Crenshaw Ave from this airport!
I had to scan back and forth to get all the picture in !!! Only a few were built in the 60's but I always liked the looks of the plane. Over to you !
How hard can it be when the registration number is visible.... To turn the tables on that. Wing Derringer
BTW, TA152, IF you do get that $500,00 bailout, maybe you could look into buying this one... 1982 WING DERRINGER D-1 Email This Add To Aircraft of Interest Print This Equipment Specifications Year 1982 Manufacturer WING Model DERRINGER D-1 Price US $149,900 Location Novato, California Condition USED Serial Number 0011 Registration Number N 8602S Total Time 299 Hours Number Of Seats 2 General Information Light twin engined touring monoplane last one built, personal Airplane of Dr. Wing Detailed Description Airframe: 299hrs TTEngine Specs: 2 Continental IO 320-BICProp(s): Left 37.5 hrs SMOH 299 SNEW Right 37.5 hrs SMOH 299 SNEWAvionics/Radios: King KMA 24 Audio Panel King KY197 Comm King KX 165 Comm King KR 87 ADF King KNS 80 DME KCS 55A HSI KT 76 Transponder Radio Master Switch Say you saw this 1982 WING DERRINGER D-1 On Controller.com! Thanks for the information. When I was younger I really wanted to buy an airplane. I started crunching numbers and found how very expensive that hobby would be and dropped the idea. If you take the plane in the ad and divided the total time of 299 hours by 27 for the age of the plane, and then by 12, it comes out that the plane was used about 9/10 th of an hour per month. Add the price of the plane, hanger, insurance, licence fees, engine inspection fees, and any maintance, plus fuel and tie down fees then you are talking big money for your hour a month flight. Except for trainers, this is typical for any private aircraft as for usage by the owner.
