"It was 30 years ago and they were burning tires in the street to protest some damned thing. And there was a Dutch girl with black fingernails, which was goth before the term was invented. And sour red wine and that salad made with real mozzarella (made with buffalo milk) and tomatoes. What do they call that?" ... Kbear. Melancholy?

No...but general idea is to put a you tube of a song you last listened to on the thread...But basically, just a break from ww2 and get to know something about the members...It works...heated debates in the threads are sometimes cooled down by chatting in these sort of threads and no one seems to have fallen out for a long time...The mods are pretty good at letting few none ww2 related threads go on..As for one I take this forum and group more as friends than just debaters...The folk on here are all good eggs...and if we disagree even badly...we tend to sort it out in threads like this. Welcome to the best forum never mind ww2 forum, but best forum on the net mate.
The full version of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yHf-8gmJwA and it is excellent, especially the breakdown at 4:30. And I don't want to hear any of that b.s. from you fogeys about funky elctro house music. Willfully ignoring the fact I'm considered by many to be a fogey myself.
We have a radio prog over here called Desert Island Discs..where someone famous picks 5 things to be stranded on a desert island with...I'd have a rowing boat and Otto and his music....I'd then row away....
Shuffling-about-in-a-field music time is it? Eh? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmnncRP6YSc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYNeQ4i7Ne8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2Eah_EGiDc One of those 'you had to be there in the right... errr... frame of mind' overall genres I'm afraid, Urqh - Mr Cocker Jr summed it up rather nicely: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCoL-nJLRpg "It's Six O'clock, I wanna go home!" Mmmmmm, crunchy nostalgia.

I'll eventually wrap my head around everything. Eventually. On topic, here's a great song about beards.
Beards?... These guys did a great interview on Stern a couple weeks ago. ZZ Top http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKJLJ1LaNY4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8xhZBTExWk
Guessing Mammas and Popps wrote Cali Dreaming, and Womack did a better version-how many years later- like late 70's maybe?...Goes to show the M and P's were fairly influential. Haven't heard much Bobby W. Will look. Watched a really good show on Netflix about an American who, in South Africa, is as big as Elvis ever was. He apparently had some small success in NA, hit the charts for a while back in the early 70 's. He is poor. A common laborer who did not know he is a superstar in SA. A testament to the corruption and intrigue that is the music industry. ..Can anyone remember Rodriguez? http://www.openculture.com/2012/10/the_strange_tale_of_rodriguez.html
