hey carl. i would strongly recommend going to Starbucks for any occasion and for any reason but especially for the coffe.
Hi Onthefield--that I definately will keep in mind. I have tried one of their products that was being sold at a local Super Bookstore. I love their Frappacinos. I think their best flavor is Mocha. I have not had the pleasure of trying their coffee.....yet. As soon as the colder north winds start blowing here--I plan on visiting their shop often. The drive home from work with some steamy hot Starbucks product inside a cup in your hand....aaaaaaaa, makes me feel like i'm back in Europe. [ 22. Carl, try a cup of strong Sacher's with a small amount of cocoa, or even wilder yeet make a mocha freez from this ! oh man........it's an eye opener especially a double shot.... ~E
Sachers is from Wien Austria Carl so you will have to go to your local German deli most probably in a larger city. In Oregon the closest is about 130 miles north or up to Portalnd at 250 miles.........yuck would be worth it though ~E
Hi Guys, I hate to bring this topic back to the top but I just read on Das-ritterkreuz that Erwin Klose, II./JägRgt 28, RK am 09.01.1945, passed away on the 22/06/2003. May he rest in peace. Regards Phil
Hi Phil--thank you for getting this thread back on track and letting us know of his passing. May he Rest in Peace.
Not an RKT,BUT SS Hauptsturmfuhrer Otto Gunsche,Officer of the LSSAH and last Adjutant to Hitler passed away on 2/10/2003 aged 86 yrs. Paul
Hi Paul, I have problems again with my Hotmail accounts and did not want to post this openly on the forums but have to so you will see this info. I just got word this morning from my DKIG vet/friend Karl Kaiser, that Carl-August Landfermann is not in good health. Karl has asked us to use good judgement on deciding to write to him or not. Karl said he would place a call to his home by the weekend to let him know our concerns and that we are thinking about him. ((Karl did this for me when I had a concern when Remy had an accident. Thankfully when Remy had had the said accident, that it was not a bad one. It turned out that his wife Johanna, was in the hospital for eye surgery and he had tried cooking his lunch and had cut his hand.)) Anyway, I just thought i'd let you know about Carl-August Landfermann, mate.
Thanks mate, For letting me know about this.Tell Karl Kaiser to pass on my best to his old Commander and let me know what he says when he has spoken to him on the phone and we'll take it from there, Paul
Hi mate--I sure will. Only I don't know when next I will hear from Karl, as he is taking care of his wife who is very ill as well She has not been outside of their house in over a year and it's been several months since I last heard from Karl before this new email. Hopefully we will get to know something though. I think he does his best to keep in touch with the other seven still living U 181er. Take care Paul and I will keep you notified on anything I can find out. I plan to try calling him soon as well.
send a note of encouragement.......why not ? ! the man needs something to brighten his day. My good friend Helmuth is not doing well at all from my last visit two days ago. he went to see the doctor and the doctor wnated to know if his right side hurt as it was a bit swollen so the doctor jabbed him in the groin with a Karate type chop and tore Helmuth's intestine.......do I hear a law suit coming ? Anyway the poor man feels like dog dirt, and I see him Monday. He is trying to be happy but you can tell the man is in sever pain and does not want to see ANY doktor at all ! do you blame him ? !! I'm rambling but send the cahp a get well card and that others on these forums are thinking of him. Grüß ~E
I probably should send a card but, i'm not going to ask for any autograph though I would love to have his. I have to send one to Maria Kaiser as well. She isn't doing so well and I think it might help make her feel good for at least a day. I think i'll send some pics as well. Sorry to hear your friend is not doing so well, and hell yes--if I were him I would sue the Dr. Frankenstein. I would not blame him at all.
