Funny, isn't this one of the reasons why Russia is mad at us? They cant get exclusive rights in their old sphere of influence
Hi Slava, to borrow part of your post above, it's funny how I predicted that pooootin was a turd that can't be trusted.
Come on guy's lets be fair. There are no Russian bombers in Venezuela. It just happened that two Vodka carrying Tu-160's landed there, since it is the only aircraft type that the Russians have left that can make the turn ina reasonable time without air refueling. Now these two (represent almost 15%) of their entire force and they are now stranded and waiting for new engines to arrive by ship - yes this is why the ships are there otherwise they can't fly back. So show some pity and grievance to the little bear. Imagine 15% of the USAF strategic flying inventory beeing stranded on the Philippines. Regards Kruska
It always has to come down to fesise with you! But seriously Carl, dont you think that some kind of a Russian response is warranted?
Heh heh, Hi Slava, I think the Russian reply to anything should be solved with a few plane loads of their finest Wodka (that's Russian for Vodka to those of you who are from Rio Linda)
Sure, they can put all the SAMs and ABMs they want in Venezuela as long as they aren't old style high altitude nuke proximity blast types as that could put a damper on American electronics.
Please guys, don't make jokes about Russian & Venezuela assets colliding or about nukes. I live next door to Venezuela and it's hot enough these days as it is
What they do in politics....definitely a cheap exercise....sell those guys to zoos to play monkeys behind bars....sorry, I insulted monkeys...
Those missile sites can become offensive in nature. Besides, they tip the strategic balance in the favor of the U.S. Russia is not dumb. It's ridiculous to think they are for containing Iran. Also, as long as a nation as thousands of nukes they have some weight to throw around.
Interesting to note though that the Military budget for Russia is ca 10% of the US budget. List of countries by military expenditures - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It´s gonna take awhile for the Russian army to make some huge developments as the wages department took some 70% off the budget some years ago.
Hi Jerome, firstly, I saluted ya, secondly, I wasn't making fun of Russian and hugo chaves's assets colliding either. What I was poking fun at was hugo chaves herself.
It is noted that some of their military funding falls under other departments such as scientific expenses for example.
C Evans: I was only joking (can't figure out how to get those smiley thingies). I am quite looking forward to the naval manouevers. Hope they have it in the Gulf (Of Paria), I will have a front row seat from the Museum. Maybe I can get some pics, if so will send you all some.
Hi Jerome, no problem and, I have to type those smiley things in as I don't know where they are located at here? Some I like to use alot are :headbash:  :ww1ace: anic: and Take care and best regards-Carl. As an example of typing a smiley in-I do this : yum : of course, don't have spaces in between the colon and whatever character you want-otherwise-it'll look exactly like my example above. There are others I use but can't remember them at this time. Oh I forgot about these, & PS, just place your curser over any smiley I posted and you will see what word or words to type in inbetween colons. I know ther's an easier way but, I don't know how to do it that way. Take care and best regards--C.
Venezuela's Chavez welcomes Russian warships - Yahoo! News Russian warships arrived off Venezuela's coast Tuesday in a show of strength aimed at the United States as Moscow seeks to expand its influence in Latin America. The deployment is the first of its kind in the Caribbean since the Cold War and was timed to coincide with President Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Caracas — the first ever by a Russian president.
