Surely a man portable neutron bomb is worth a bit more exploration. At least if you throw that you only blow up folk and leave buildings intact....Thereby not breaking most countries rules on protection of property which as we know is sacrosanct to many. Failing that I'd go for a sheep. Easily trained, follows orders like errr...a sheep. Deadly with the right training.
I like the idea of the atomic grenade, I can imagine the instructions; "Set timer to 2-5 minutes, pull pin, throw at target, retire 25 miles." Personally I'd copy Lt David Wood's choice of weapons at Pegasus, a sten and a canvas bucket of grenades.
If it was there allready I would use the .44 magnum and play Dirty Harry... Otherwise I would use my bare fist
I just found this thread so here's my reply: I would use a gun like the 88L/71 model, mounted on a very reliable vehicle with appropriate armor thickness and mobility to skim across the mud and snow like I was flying, but still capable enough to take a Russian 122mm HEAT round from the front at less than 400 meters. I know I'm dreaming, but then again, no one said should the weapon be real or not.....
Gentelmen: I will give the conversation with a Junior Officer of my Regiment who had served in Afganistan. The last three months of his tour he was able to obtain from US Special forces an old M 14 cal. .308 rifle and 500 rounds of match loaded ammo. He lold me that he had no problem getting hits at ranges of 600 to 800 metere in the mountais. Senior officers in the regiment told that he had a very ratio of confirmed kill and that wehen they left Special Forces reclaimed their weapon. The only active unit that still use the M 14 are ships crews in the US Navy. I wonder haw many of these weapons are in ships locker are still in service. As Ever, Walter L. Marlowe ( Airborne all the Way)
I imagine that they will stay in the lockers however as with combat related to ships the H&K MP5 seems to be a much better choice to use.
I would use a Mosin Nagant. I hunt so I'm good with bolt actions, while it is smaller than other bolt action rifles. It has great stopping power and has the legendary Russian "idiot-proofness".
The STG-44 would be my weapon of choice, or maybe the PPsH. However nothing can beat being in a King Tiger, or maybe the M26 Sherman
This isn't WWII, but still fascinating stuff M-388 DAVY CROCKETT http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Davy_Crockett_(nuclear_device)
Without a doubt , i would pick the M1 Garand, maybe a Thompson as a secondary, a few grenades, id be alright
Well lets see, you can't exactly "wield" a tank, plane, or ship so I will skip those. I'd probably wield the MP-43 as my weapon of choice
If this only consists of of hand held weapons. I would have to choose either a Thompson or a SprinField with a scope.
