Thanks for asking Stevin-In fact, I actually started the project again, I didn't like the tone of my writings, so I censored it, and then scrapped it-I'm very busy with school study at the moment-so possibly November as a launch date!

My friend actually told me about the new game but I didn't believe him...well now that this has been confirmed I might have to look inot it abit harder...thanks Stevin...

Did Hptn. Reinhardt Horning escape from Stalingrad or was he awarded the KC posthumously?

6th October 1944 - a typical Bomber Command night for this stage of the war.

Large raids mounted on both Dortmund and Bremen with clear wether providing perfect conditions for the Pathfinders. Severe damage caused to both targets. Bomber Command fly 947 sorties on this night with only 12 ( 1.3 percent ) failing to return.

With 6 Group providing 293 aircraft, this was the Canadian group's strongest effort of the war.

    10 October 1943

One of the bloodiest battles in the air over the Reich. Mission destination was Münster with 236 bombers effective over the target out of 313. Stiff Luftwaffe oppostion resulted in the downing of 30 bombers and claims of JG 1 and 11 plus JG 26 of 12 bombers, 4./JG 3 claimed 2 and the twin engine unit ZG 26 claimed 16. ZG 26 suffered heavily while losing 10 a/c and the other 6 single engine units particpating losing 19 a/c.
So vicious were the attacks that the Bomber gunner claims were overwhelming with 183 German a/c claimed as destroyed and the P-47 escorts claiming another 19 for a loss of 1. German losses were 29 ! The Bloody 100th bomb group suffered the most with 12 B-17's shot down and one landing with CAT E damage as a write off. 390th bomb group lost a total of 8 B-17's and the 95th lost 5 more.......

US bomber crews were starting to really ask themselves if the bombing campaign over Germany was really worth the effort. No other bombing missions will take place until the fateful Schweinfurt raid on the 14th of October......

And there's a good book written about this raid from the 8th AF perspective called 'Munster : The Way It Was' by Ian L Hawkins.
