    Discover the forum while trying to find information about my Grandfather's miltary service. I requested his military record and have received a very blurry copy of his discharge papers. I have been able to work out some of the codes with the help of the internet. Under the section titled 'Reason and Authority for Separation' it states 'Demobilization as amended by TWX TAG 4 Sep 45. I have not been able to find out what this means and would be very grateful for any help.

    Welcome on this forum. Many of us will see your request and hopefully someone will be able to help.

    I believe Sept 4 1945 was a general date for the demob of thousands of soldiers. I have seen the same date and codes on the papers of an Airforce Sgt.
