I was reading an article in a newspaper about a boy who made propaganda leaflets WITH-IN Germany, and was excuited in 1945..Just days before Hitler commited suicide. Two of his helpers were sentinced to 5 years in prison and 3 years of prison. His brother fought on the western front as Stalingrad and recently passed away. The boy was only 17 when he was excuited. His name was Helmuth Hubner. His partners in "Crime" ( or justice, depending on weather or not your a Nazi) are Rudi Wobbe and Karl-Heinze Schnibber. His brother was Gerhard Hubner. I read about Hans and Sophie Scholl of the White Rose group (based in Munich university), executed in 1944 I think. Beheaded. Interestingly beheading was the very first piece of legislation introduced by Hitler with the powers given to him by Hindenburg, the old feller must've tossed his lunch. It seems sedition, dissidence or otherwise known as "international terrorism" was first on the books for Nazi reform, second was prosecuting (typically Jewish, student) activists like the feller charged with burning the Reichstag. Hitler was greatly involved in youth attitudes, his racial concept was one of genetic psychology (ie. 19th century popular Eugenics, which has sadly managed to survive through to today regardless of how directly challenged by science and academics). It was the Jewish mind/Marxist trap/Capitalist conspiracy which concerned him and he claimed was as much genetic as cultural and all derived of the same source. Hence his brutal treatment of even children who disagreed with his outlook and perceptions was to be expected. Abusive parents for example aren't otherwise okay, they're arseholes to begin with and their kids make the mistake of accidentally bringing it up, typically with innocent, inherently honest actions. Perusing a local video store recently I happened across a fairly recent movie called Sophie Scholl, apparently screen written from her own diary entries and including primarily her period in captivity leading up to the executions. Compelling to watch and also terribly disturbing for its historical basis.
These brave teenagers always make me think, as Frau Traudl Junge (Hitler's secretary) said at one time regarding herself and Sophie Scholl, about the 'ordinary' Germans who did carry out their 'duties' to the Fatherland...
