hy...i just joined.... i'm from germany....bünde (cigarr city), i'm in a group of young men who like to explore everything under the earth, like mines, bunkers and so on...... i'm mainly here to get new informations, so if anyone knows something, tell me. i've already seen the stör II, dachs, hecht 1-5 (still searching for hecht 6), silberfisch, kröte and elritze
Hi Lorarius, I'm actually interested in the german soildiers warfare of ww2. Cheers! I saw the very first post that jack made and i was so interested to talk to him, as forums don't really have much ww2 vets as memebers. But the time i got to the last posts, i was disipointed, but my main concern is for him himself. Hope you pull though ww2 vet jack, i'm pulling for you.
Lorarius, Welcome to the forum, good to have you here. I created a seperate thread and moved your post out of Jack's thread, that way you both get individual attention.
ah...thanks to u......just didnt want to open a new one and stay in that "sticky" well, i'm pacifist....so not really for war, but i'm very interested in technical things and so on..... and btw.... I AM NO NAZI!!!!!!!!! (just to be sure everyone knows ;-)) if anyone needs some informations, or even is here and wants to have a guided tour arround ww2 factories arround porta westfalica.....let me know.....anyone wants some pics? i got plenty.....any translations? i can help (german, latin, english)
Welcome ! No need to say you are not a Nazi, that's obvious and noone here (at least I hope) will think that the equation German= Nazi is true after over 60 years. You are just as welcome as anybody else and noone will bother bother you about your nationality, which you can mention with pride. If you like ground findings and relics you will enjoy our militaria section. We have quite a few relic enthousiasts here.
Welcome aboard! Unfortunately we don't have many Germans with us, but we have some wannabes which isn't the same thing Do feel welcome
Hallo Lorarius and welcome to the forum. I lived in Germany for a while being from a military family was well as being in the military myself. Great country and great people. You will find the members here friendly and helpful. Hope to hear more from you and hopefully some photos from your explorations. Happy posting.
ah...einige könne ja einw enig deutsch (ah...so some can speak a bit german) of course i know lostplaces.de, but that isn't really informative for me.....i need insider infos.....7-grad has been usefull.....soon our group will have an own webside too, till then have a look at theese pics.... FotoPlayer ....u can see the focke wulf enginemanufacturing halls in the gallery sektion "bergwerk märz 08" i am hoping, that maybe anyone has maps and so on, or, which would be the best, anyone who has been in the us or uk army who blew up those things.....
so Lor you need plans of the Oschersleben factory or ..... ? I am probablay not understanding well or getting my words across ..verstehen sie ? nice Musik für Fotoplayer now the questions on your last foto links - underground facilities but for what if you/your team know?
hey.... well, oschersleben, would be nice....but too far away....maybe it's an aspect of war u didn't know about germany.....after the british bombers sarted bombing civil targets like normal houses (yes, the brits started, germans just reacted with v1 and v2) nothing really happened.......but us airforce started to bomb important factories. for eg factories which produced bearings, without any bearings panzers, cars and so on can't be produced. so some special ss-commando was foundet. it was meant to secure production, they decided to move factories to bunkers and mines. if i take for example the production of airplane fuel....... ....us airforce was so good, that in whole germany the production of airplane fuel wasn't possible any more....every raffinery was destroyed. so ss tryed to built big raffinerys under the earth, known as "dachs 1-6". but war ended "too early", none of theese 6 projects could be finished. "dachs 1" ,which is nearby and i have been there 3 times till now, was almost finished, 89%, it had highest priority. after war americans blew parts of it up, but just so much, that it cannot be used any, so it's very interesting to see big halls and so on. http://ghost121.gh.funpic.de/html_de/derag.html on that side u can see some pics, on the last one is a plan of that dachs 1, but i have been inside there and i didn't find more then the first tanks..... but there are always things which are kinda rumors, like hidden panzers in the mountains, tunnels which had been blown by ss before us troops came....and so on.....some idiots even publish faked maps, some are faked by ss, but some are faked by people who just like to kid others.... most of the papers and lists of that time had been burned by ss, so it's hard to get real informations. so, maybe i can get some informations from people in this forum here, plans, maps, the greatest would be if anyone who had been in that area in that time (us troops, forced workers, german soldiers) could give me some infos.....
think you need to try and inspect the grounds Northend ? of Oberammergau as there are many hidden facilities but protected of course by US troops. It would be beneficial for you to make a drive and ask some of the local townsfolk for the past history and why ?
mmm can't agree with you there old chum. I think you'll find the Luftwaffe started bombing civilians long before the RAF did.
Owen, I don't think he's making a who-started comparison. And IIRC the RAF had begun bombing civilians elsewhere some 20 years before in heathen places like Iraq and the North West Frontier
