Hi guys! Glad I found a forum where I KNOW I belong! WWII is a big passion of mine, and among those, I collect weapons from the era. My favorite by far is the Kar98k. I own one of the SS models manufactured in Mauthausen, Austria under Gestapo guard in a minority prison camp. For the longest time I have been looking for a way to bring this rifle into the 21st century. I've restored the wood to basically brand-new condition, and the metal is currently undergoing rebluing and removal of any serious pits or blemishes. Among some of the bigger changes, I have designed a rail system that replaces the rear-sight leaf and extends ove the top of the receiver in order to mount a large scope (rather than those stupid scout mounts such as B-Square's design). I will post some pictures of this project once I find the appropriate area, and if you are interested in a brand-new design to mount a scope on your rifle with no permanent modification, please don't hesitate to PM me.
Hello there, welcome to the forum. I know you will like it here, a real great bunch these fellow posters are! Cheers, Django
G'day mate and welcome, Would you mind posting some pictures of your weapons for us and all love picture.

Thanks for the sincere greetings everyone. I will have pics of this project and everything shortly, just waiting on my parts to get back from being blued. Skipper, Wisconsin is getting colder by the day, and I can't stand it! Lol, yes Summer Fest is still a huge event in Milwaukee, even though there haven't been many bands I would go and see to tell you the truth. I just go for the food and stuff Thanks again everyone!
