Hi folks, nearly 5 years ago, (June 8th - 10th to be precise) Mt wife and I stumbled across a little event in Normandy, in particular, in the town of CARENTAN. As it happened it turned out to be the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day landings and the liberation of Carentan. I have every intention of going again next year for the 65th Anniversary, along with my wife. Does anyone know of any special events that occur during this time. We have visited the Beaches and the Cemeteries, and will do so again. We have watched the parades of vehicles and personnel who turn up in the hundreds if not thousands, kitted out in the gear and equipment of the time. Any ideas, places to visit, places to stay very much appreciated.
Normandie Memoire is organising the commemorations. Accommodation is very thin on the ground, already. The ferries are also filling up fast. Steve W.
