Wow, you ever go there with a metal detector? I'm sure you could at least find ration tins, dog tags, and the like. There is a large field at what used to be Ft. Benj. Harrison in Indianapolis. When we took my grandpa by, he said they had to drill there every morning. I've always wanted to go there with a metal detector. We also have "Soldiers Park" in Indy, which used to be a Civil War era camp. Bet there are all kinds of goodies there. Well, that and beer cans.
Hi Doc I dont know what you could find with a metal detector, although I dont think it would be much. Yesturday I went up to the Belmont [ammo] magazines. Its a 2 hour return trip, uphill into gale force wind. All the buildings are on farm land and you can't access most of them. The ones I did go in had either been used by the farmers or by sheep to shelter in. (lot of deads sheep and sheep cr*p.) Ill show you some photos I took when I get the film developed.
