I've been looking for ages but I can't find any confirmation of a declaration of war made by Greece or it's government-in-exile. I do know that it must have had to in order for it to be one of the parties to the Treaty of San Francisco in 1951. Perhaps I'm not looking in the right spot but does anyone have any idea if Greece ever even issues one?
I believe it would be the United Nations Declaration of War against members of the Tripartite Pact issued January 1st 1942. There were 26 nations who originally signed the document including the Greek Government in Exile
You know, that's what I originally assumed. But considering that every other Allied nation issued a formal declaration of war against Japan, I assumed that Greece (or it's government-in-exile) must have as well. I do know that it severed diplomatic relations with the Japanese. It's no big deal of course but it's one of those things that has irritated me for some time. Thank you for the reply by the way.

On 30 Jun 1945, the Greek Amabassador to the US delivered a note to the State Dept indicating that the Greek government, through the Swedish Embassy in Tokyo, had told the Japanese government that a state of war existed between the two countries as of 8 Dec 1941. So after three and a half years, they made a retroactive declaration. The Japanese government did not respond with its own declaration.
Ah, I knew that they're had to have been some formal declaration made by the Greeks against Japan. Thanks for the response Where do you find that by the way?
