Hi Carl. I seen a show on the Travel network or some similar channel, about a place that did that. If it's the same place I believe you have a 1 hour time limit on it being free. On the show, the network put up three people to attempt eating this steak. The first was a late 20's female who came nowhere close. The second was a middle age male who barley accomplished the task in the allotted time frame. The final person was a 72 year old male. Not only did he eat his 72 oz steak in less than 30 minutes, but he finished a second 72oz steak before the end of the hour:eek:

Hi Mike, I saw that same show-which was on the Food Channel and was aired several months ago. They also had a show that was about the 10 best places to pig out at. One of them was a Burger joint in Boston--which showed some college student who ate some 8 1/2 pounds of cheeseburgers and 7 pounds of French Fries. Almost completing that task, the guy upset his stomach-but was awarded with that 8 1/2 pound burger being named after him. Heck, I can barely eat a 1/4th pounder-and thats W/O eating the fries.

I remember another one where they serve Omlets made using 1 dozen eggs. I can barely eat two eggs at a time-let alone 1-dozen eggs.

I can eat pretty much non-stop (hence my recent diet to lose 80 pounds). The night before I went on my first date with my wife, I went out with a few friends and we ended up going to 5 different concerts (local bands) starting at 10:30am on Saturday morning and finishing at 2:30am on Sunday morning. We ate at every venue (I know I had 2 orders of fried calimari at House of Blues to start the day, a middle eastern lunch at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA, something at Plough and Stars but I cannot remember what, two fish sandwiches with fries and a brownie sundae at a non-music place and an entire cheese pizza across the street from TT the Bear's Place). After all of the music was done, we went to the New York Diner in Watertown Square and I ate:

    12 eggs over easy
    4 orders of toast
    4 orders of homefries
    2 milk shakes
    two ice cream sundaes
    and a sandwich.

Then I went home and had left over pizza.

Nnnnnaaaa-aa-aa-aa-aaaaaa (as Curly might say) Right now, what you just listed is about 2 weeks worth of food for me--and i'm not starving. At this time, i'm not on any diet but do take in mostly 600-700 calories a day-and rarely over 1,000-1,200.

Heh heh, not that im bragging but, over the holidays ranging a few days before Thanksgiving to a few days after New Years--I gained only 4 ounces. As Ripley would say: "Beleve it, or not".

I used to be able to go to one of those All-you-can-eat places, and have about two plates of food. My then roommate, could eat at least 4 plates of food piled high-then a large Desert-and he weighs the same as he did when he was drafted into the Army in 1969--145 lbs.

As a starving student in college, all I could afford to do was to go every Saturday at lunch-and go to one of those all you can eat pizza places like Ci-Ci's Pizza--and only then because the buffet w/ drink was $2.99 tax included. Us college students loved that place even though their pizzas sucked.

That's just it, here in Houston it's all good. However, if you go to Corpus Christi-that aint the case but I could still give you advice on where to go and where not to go eat at.

U&I Restaurant, Longhorn, Longhorn Steak & Ale, The Torch, Taste of Texas, Montana Mikes, Cracker Barrel, The Country Bayou, Nikos Steakhouse and Rafaels--are the places to go to.
