    Good Afternoon folks,

Re-enactment in Canada isn't the largest of hobbies, mostly due to the limited knowledge of the hobby here.

This post goes out to anyone living in the Provinces of Ontario and Quebec. There is such a thing as Allied and German WWII re-enactment.

I currently live in Montreal, and I am a member of the Kampfgruppe Haase, 2nd Panzer Division.

    There are three main impression groups that fall under the umbrella of the KG;

    - 2. Kompanie/LSSAH 1. SS Panzer Division; SS-Panzerdivision 12.
    -
    Panzergrenadier Regiment 2./Panzerdivision 2. (5.Ko./Pz.Gren.Rgt.
    2/2.Pz.Div.)
    - Luftwaffe Ground Forces: 3rd Kompanie Fallschirmjäger Regiment 4 & Luftwaffe field Division 16
    .

We draw our numbers mainly from the Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal regions, and we welcome both francophones and anglophones to join us. Most of us are bilingual.

The 2nd Panzer group generally trains once a month during the spring, summer and fall seasons coupled with public events and larger scale tactical battles. Things take a slower pace during winter-time but we do try to have one training and one tactical battle in the snowy forests.

The website can be found at Welcome to Kampfgruppe Haase! Celebrating over 30 Years of Second World War Reenactment. All the necessary information required can be found there but if you have any questions please do not hesistate.

Si vous êtes francophones, n'hesitez pas a me contacter pour de l'information en français.

    Take care,

    -Werner

Yet, another example of unhealthy fascination with Nazi Germany in the worst possible form of Waffen SS units very well known as war criminals.

Very nice website. Keep educating the public looks like you got to take part in several good shows. I attend the reading airshow every year and veterans of several nationalities do not mind seeing German soldiers parading on the tarmac. It's educational for me and the public to see the tactics and equipment the German military had then. You just can't sweep things under the rug never discuss it and hope it will all go away. Keep up the good work.

Calm down, it's just a battle re-enactment. They are not worshipping or sponsering nazi ideologies. They are just out there playing a game, no one is getting hurt or discriminated against. it's completly on a historical and militaristic point of view. Besides someone has to play the role of the enemy, otherwise there would be no battle.

They have battle re-enactments like these all over the world.

"...someone has to play the role of enemy, otherwise their would be no battle."

Ahhh....would that it were, that "there would be no battle."

Fascinated as I am by military history, I well acknowledge that we would be much better off as a species if the subject did not exist.

"That's why we'll always need an army, and may God strike me down dead if it were not so...".....(KERPOWW!!!)...Graham Chapman, from "Monty Python's 'The Meaning of Life."

thanks Volga for correcting my spelling errors. Gosh, flashback to grade 2.

Anyway.. if there weren't any wars, yes the world would be much better off.. but some of us would need heavy doses of illegal drugs to be happy and bubbly. Then we can all live in a world full of teletubbies. Barney the purple dinosaur could be our president!! I love you, you love me!

    hey volga, how's my spellign?

    :D
