HELLO ALL! I AM NEW TO THE FORUM AND AM WONDERING IF ANYONE CAN OFFER ADVISE OR OPINION...I HAVE A CHRISTOPHER CLAYTON HUTTON WW2 BRITISH CLOTH/SILK ESCAPE MAP, EUROPEAN THEATER, 1943 SERIES MAP (FORGIVE ME IF THIS IS NOT HOW TO DESCRIBE, BUT I HAVE FOUND LITTLE INFO AND THIS IS MY BEST TRY) IT IS TWO SIDED, HAS FRANCE, GERMANY, SWITZERLAND ON ONE SIDE, HOLLAND, BELGIUM GRANCE AND GERMANY ON REVERSE...I HAVE ONLY FOUND INFO ON 2 WEBSITES, ONE BEING A DONATION TO THE SPURLOCK MUSEUM...MY QUESTION IS, BEING THAT I CAN'T FIND ANY MORE INFO ON THIS MAP, I AM NOT SURE OF ITS MONETARY VALUE...I'M NOT SURE WHETHER THIS SHOULD BE DONATED SOMEWHERE, OR IF IT IS REASONABLE TO GIVE IT TO A FRIEND'S SON WHO IS A BIT OF A HISTORY BUFF. IF THERE IS ANYONE WHO KNOWS OR COULD SEND ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT..I HAVE DONE AUCTION SEARCHES, EBAY, MILITARIA SEARCHES TO NO AVAIL....THANK YOU IN ADVANCE...

Hello , this escape map has quite some value, acording to the condition I would say at least 50 euros. If you want to donate it to a young boy, it would be preferable to give it to his parents and ask them to keep it for him until he is about 13 or more.
You may also donate it to an Association or a museum. I am myself in charge of a small association called Memoires d'Aviateurs(=Aviator memories), dedicated to the fallen airmen from WWII. We organize commemorations and exhibitions with WWII militaria linked to aviation and would gladly add this item to our next exhibition.

    Well said Skipper.
Maybe it can be put in a two sided frames for him to view and keep safe!

right on the monies Skip, he needs to be at least 13 to appreciated the significance of such an item so it does not get lost, runined or soiled-damaged, put away in some old dusty crate.

Agree on keeping it safe. 13 is a little on the old side. Depending on a child's interest, ability and maturity something like this could be given and appreciated from age 10/11.

My now 10 year old cousin, who lives in Oslo, received a plugged Kar 98k from his grandfather when he turned five. As a child, his grandfather (not mine) used to break into the German supplies and steal back Norwegian flags and spread it in the streets.
My uncle was not happy when he saw the present. :)

I have just recently come across a silk escape map as well. It is an FGS E/9 CA series. Does anyone know 1) it's value 2) how I should care / store it and 3) how many of this particular series were dispached or produced?

Thanks, I am a newbie so any advice or info would be much appreciated!
