Heh, that certainly narrowed it-a wee bit. Trouble is is that most of my favorite B&W War movies were either done after a book, or because of an article in the Saturday Evening Post ;-))

Twelve O'Clock High? Gregory Peck et el.

Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo? Spencer Tracy, Van Johnson, Robert Mitchum.

Air Force? John Garfield, Randolph Scott & I forget whom else?

The Purple Heart? Dana Andrews and Marshall Thompson.

    That's the best I can do. :))

That one has already been solved. It was Guadalcanal Diary. Here is the new quote.

    "God save the King".
    "God save us all".

Yes it would! Congrats on that one, it wasn't googleable, and the quote was not in imdb either. I remembered it.

    Your turn.

Is it when the guy says "No no Bronch, this is my part of the act?" at the mountain and the overhang?

    How about this:

"Haven't you heard? Japan has surrendered and they are fighting on our side".

Yes, it was at the part when they are preparing to scale the cliff at the end of the movie. Richard Jaekel's character said it.

    "Go for Broke"?

Dang you, I KNEW that one. Also, it was Harry Carey Jr who said that line. Now "WE'RE" at Wah.

Hey Carl, I know you are in the klink now, so practice your quick drawing in there, sort of like Hilts throwing the baseball in the cooler in the "Great Escape". In the meantime, it's MY turn.

"I'm tired of choking on Panzer fumes!"

Yes ww2fan I agree, "Gran Torino" was a very good movie, but this is a "name that movie quote" thread. And keep in mind that Gran Torino was not a war movie. Here's the rules for this thread; when it's your turn, you post a quote from a WW2 movie of your choice, and then other Rogues (members of this forum) attempt to guess what movie it is taken from. If they guess it correctly, then THEY get to post their choice. If not, it's up for grabs until guessed correctly. Right now, collectorww2 guessed that last choice correctly, so it's his still turn until he comes back online. To get a better grip on how this thread works, scroll back a few pages to read and learn how to participate properly. Stick around and see how it works.
