Top of the morning to ya! Happy St. Patricks day to all my Irish brethren! (and all the people who pretend they're Irish today).
With the price of corned beef brisket running so high this year (as compared to previous), I'm going to skip that this year and make an Irish Stew from my ex-wife's great grandmother's recipe. She was a naturalized American who immigrated to the US in the 19th Century. I made it and her soda bread last year as well, after I found her recipe. It is frugal in the extreme as it contains a pork chop, a lamb chop, and a chicken thigh all boned out, and chopped into small cubes. Made with small "new potatoes", leeks, a parsnip, and baby carrots in a beef broth. Quite nummy actually. Dunking soda bread in the stew, and washing them down with a good stout is heaven in the mouth to even my Norwegian tastebuds.
You ain't kidding. I do a lot of BBQ Brisket and that price smarts. Brisket being the cut of beef nobody really wanted used to be inexpensive....but now....Wow!
And the rest of the day to yer self! mines a drop of the black stuff and i have Irish blood thanks to my maternal Grandfather, who came from bally some where in paddy land
Aw man, does this mean no Mail Delivery today?  Update, the very moment I pressed the Enter button, who shows up? and with what? -two packages including original pics as well as Movie Studio Press Release Photos.
Happy St. Patrick's Day. On the way home stopped off at Maguire's Pub to have a toast with some workmates - the husband had green beer while I had Irish coffee. No Irish meal as we got home to our daughter having cooked supper and we walked in just as it came out the oven - good thing we didn't stay longer!
Is that good or bad? We did the St. Patrick's Day festivities this past weekend. Started out shooting tequila (the worm in the bottle was green), then drinking Mexican beer, with lime slices. After that ran out, I switched to Heineken, which was in a green bottle. We ate gumbo, with okra (a green vegetable). The parade was nice until it started raining. My umbrella was green though.
wow, don't know how i missed this thread......oh wait i was still drunk hope ye had a good day of it, i know i did.......up ya boyo!
The Westminster College campus 'Cultural Diversity' organizations had scheduled a 'wear orange' day to increase awareness for child slavery for that Tuesday. Luckily, someone (still ignorant of the statement of wearing orange on st Patrick's day) said they should move the wear-orange day, as they didnt think many people would participate since they would be wearing green. Still, the greatly sensative 'cultural diversity' club on campus attempted to organize a wear orange day for St Patrick's day
Once again proving my point that there is no lack of stupid people on the planet, and they increase daily.
