This battle is probably one of if not the most well described in history. I've heard that there were litterally people out there with tape measuerse after the battle. One US tank claimed 3 kills in either 7 or 9 seconds. It was used as a scenario in Janus I beleive to improve the model and perhaps in CASTFOREM as well.

I remember feeling very scared before this battle but once it began I was very numb. We constantly were moving. I remember my commander saying we covered 212 miles during the ground war. I think we slept maybe two hours a day for a week if that.

Here's the other one I took.

What hit the one from your unit?

I believe the one above was hit by a Hellfire from a USMC Cobra

I saw a T-72 hit one and another Abrams hit another. They were in the same area. It was very easy to get disoriented out there. I got lost for several hours myself.

That could be the one hit by an Abrams then-I'm no expert when it comes to tanks and the Cobra story was kind of a rumour.

I guess we must have been kicking some of the same shit around the same time then?

The last picture was taken shortly before my Land Rover needed rescuing by some nice USMC chaps with a wrecker.....My driver headed for the soft sand to avoid a mass of Abrams coming towards and got us stuck so they ended up pulling us out just before dark.

    Cheers

Infact a bit further to the right of the above pictures I had this took of me on an Iraqi T-55 about 200/300 yards down the road.

For some reason we then attracted a bit of incoming in the way of mortar rounds so we decided to do one :D

There were several friendly fire incidents so you never know and then those things they choose to keep secret and I saw some of that too. We took a little mortar fire too. Still nothing like armor engagements. The Iraqis were not very good and their equipment was not nearly as good as ours.

That'll be difficult, since one is no longer a member and the other hasn't posted here for 15 months....
