Soon to be in my skinny hands-the following classic War Movies:

    1) A Time To Love and A Time To Die.
    2) El Cid (Deluxe box set.)
    3) 55 Days At Peking.
    4) The VERY hard to find on DvD: The War Lord.
    5) And hopefully soon: Hannible Brooks.

I had a lot more until I transitioned from DVD to Blu. At that time I liquidated a lot of my inventory.

I believe right now I have 10-12 Blus and maybe 10 or so of my original DVDs. But my collection used to be much higher.

I dont have the funds to spend to go to blu-ray-so im going to be one of those "hold-outs".

Since the above, i've added another War movie and a few Westerns. One of the Westerns is of course, a JOHN WAYNE Western: The Spoilers. This also has Marlena Dietrich in it in her best years IMO :yum: :yum:

i had a bit of a DVD collection but then i got a HD tv and now I am slowly transfering my collection to Blue Ray, which can become quite costly.

But the good thing is some of the old movies are out on Blue Ray, which is good. So far I found Patton, Bridge too Far, Longest Day, Battle of the Bulge, Battle of Britian in Blue Ray. i'm looking for more older movies out there but lots have yet to be released in Blue Ray.. Eventually i'll let go of my dvd collection which had grown to well over 55 WW2 movies and docs . That doesn't include the VHS documentarios and movies which i can't even view them anymore since I no longer have a VCR.

I can't believe how expensive Blue Rays are... some old movies are over 20 dollars and new releases are 35 dollars (in Canada ) I bought Band of Brothers in DVD for 35 dollars here. In Blure Ray, $85 dollars was the cheapest I saw in stores. It seems silly to buy a movie that i already own.. but it's nice to see a good movie in High Def.

But by the time I get my collection into Blue Ray Something else will come out and i'll have to buy it all over again.

I like to collect them... Since i can't participate in militaria discussions and collect the guns, medals and tanks that you guys own! I can a least say I got some movies about the war. I know it's sad.. but I guess I am a boring person with lots of movies to watch. :)

anyway, your right jag books are better than movies..

Hi Suzie, I think you would be a great addition to the militaria discussions ;-)) Give them a whirl sometime and if something isnt understandable, well, you can count on Gents like E, Kai, Skipper, Hucks, Fischer, John, Jon, John, Ray, Jason, 36thVA, Bill, Stewy, and myself to help you out if needed? ;-))
