Every now and then I see something in the news that truly saddens me. Poppy seller attacked and robbed
<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/essex/6112650.stm" target="_blank">Poppy seller attacked and robbed </a> Scum's the word. Cheers, Adam.
The sad thing is this is not uncommon. myself and 4 other lad from our re-enactment group joined some british legion chaps to help them with there collection in sundaerland city centre last saturday. the chaps were all old and one said that someone followed him on the thursday and attempted to grab the collection tin. as an aside though we were all in ww11 uniform and the response from the public was brilliant with 3 very full collection tins and we saw a lot of paper notes going in not just change. we will be out with them again this saturday and as we are all tall (well apart from 1 lol) we will be keeping an eye out for any thieves
Hopefully, this will attract more contributions from an outraged public. I would like to add a few more pockmarks to the thief's body via my shotgun.
This is just a sad reflection on the way things are going here in GB. And this sort of story really hits home, I hope that poor gentleman is OK now.
I'd say it was as much a sad reflection of how things have always been in Pitsea. Here's a link for you Richard, Lowest world crime rate apparently Cheers, Adam.
alas i did not as we were very busy, we are taking part in the march service and wreath laying tommorrow (remembrence sunday) so i will take pics of this definetly
That really makes me sick. We have these veterans and volunteers helping others and they get robbed. Shows wha the world has come to and what some would do for money.
here is a link to 4 pictures taken by a friend on the day and posted on his site, as you can see from my face in the first pic it was quiet a sollum and heart touching occasion. http://www.ww2reenactorsne.proboards2.com/index.cgi?board=bowburn06&action=display&thread=1163525450
