Locator card

    While searching thru some old papers I found a "locator card" for my grandfather.I done a search here for it and it came back as zero results found.can anyone tell me what the purpose of these were and what the punched out portions mean(if anything).

    Looks like old data processing equipment used these to track personnel and their location (unit assignment) in the army. Pretty amazing for 1943.

    After a two hour search with Google I think I have found the info I was looking for.
    IBM Punch Cards in the U.S. Army

    It's late (1:25 A.M here) so I guess it will have to wait till morning to decifer what it all means.

    Ok so I'm finally getting back to this and found this info.I still havent been able to decifer what it all means but I think I'm a step closer.
