Musso, while I don'[t burn easily (my Italian heritage, I guess), I have heard from my wife that cool tea helps. Use regular store bought tea bags, boil some water (as much as you need), let a few bags steep until the water cools down. Then apply the tea using gauze compresses. Supposedly, the tannin in the tea helps to reduce the burning sensation. It's worth a try. Good luck.
I think Irusso is on to something... here's a whole page on treatment.. Sunburn remedy - Best Home Remedies for curing sunburn
The only thing that helped get me through my various sunburnings was to wear light cotton T-Shirts-if that is allowed at your Job? Anything non 100% cotten will almost feel like your wearing a shirt made out of sandpaper.
Hi Lou, I heard about the tea thing. However, i'd have a difficult time of it because would be using all the tea to make ice-cold tea----to drink-of which I am a fanatic of ;-)) I couldn't stand that when in Germany, NOTHING came iced-like water-tea and such. Thanks for the salute Luke-I still owe you one from the other day ;-))
I am not a foreigner , those who don' t have my nationality are, can't you hear my accent when you read my texts?
So no COD for a while then? Remember, the next stage is the peeling so you have that to look forward to.
if it makes you feel any better Musso, I've currently got a rediculous tan line from wearing a helmet and goggles all weekend. Then again, I only managed to burn the tip of my nose so it's not all bad...
What the hell! It only rains in PA. Sunday I played in a golf tournament and never once did the sun come out. It was also fairly chilly. As for me, right now I would be considered albino with how pale I am. Hope you don't have to miss too much work. Mussolini - getting little sympathy from a Yankee.
Stefan - I had the trucker tan too! My commute is directly North/South so only one arm gets the sun (both ways). Its actually the only part of me that did not burn (ironic). I look like that guy in the picture, but the burn extends up over the pasty-white parts of arm and shoulders (shoulders is what is killing me). Not going into work today - actually slept a few painful hours last night, punctuated with getting up to take a piss because of all the fluids I am drinking. The tricky part is getting the burn that i can't reach...very painful moving my arms up above heart level, so can't exactly reach that area. I do have a spray-can of Aloe (my mom found it) which makes applying that stuff elsewhere easy, if not for the fact that it goes on really cold. I will see if i can my room mate or something to take a picture of my sunburn to make you all wince.
lol....i'd have to wear green-tighty-whities so that it reveals my thighs, the only part of me that is white! Just took a cold shower (dial in shower was almost at off) and managed to get shoulders under the water. Hopefully means i can soon wear a shirt? gonna air dry for a bit then try it.
I had the greatest tan ever when coming back from Costa Rica. I had the red-neck tan (wifebeater) from wearing a life jacket on the first day. Got badly burnt, so then wore a t-shirt rest of time, which gave me a Farmers Tan (sleeves). So my forearms were black, elbow (ish) era to shoulders were brown, shoulders/chest/belly etc white.
Ah, some of the tans I've come off exercise with were interesting. once I managed to tan normally up to my shirt-sleeve line, then wore a civvy t-shirt with shorter sleeves and burned for a one inch band around the tops of my arms. I then made the mistake of taking off my watch and the pale strap line went from white to red in under an hour!
