Well after many months of "lurking",have finally decided to register.
My name is Peter and live in Ireland. Some say I look a bit like Ross from friends, but my wife is way hotter than Rachel,(have to say that, just in case) Since I can remember I have been interested in all aspects of WW2.Big Hstory channel fan.
A relative of my father was a paratrooper and took part in the D Day landings. He was a morse operator and his mates used to tease him that he was picked to be a morse operator because the Germans would never be able to understand morse with an Irish accent!!!!!
He never talked about his experiences until near his death and what he told my father of the horrors of war still effects dad to this day.
On to happier things, best holiday of my life so far was a week in Normandy visiting all the sites and museums. Finally getting to see what I had been reading about all my life.
I go through different subjects on the war.Just finished reading Target: Pearl Habour by Michael Slackman, highly reccommend it.At present I am reading about the enigma codes and its decyphering by the allies.I still reckon there is a lot we will never be told about this.I am also passionate about archaeology and medieval history(any history really)
Anyway thats me.Please feel free to contact me any time.
    Kind regards
    Peter D
    Peace

Welcome - my wife spent a week in Ireland five years ago and still brings it up as one of the best places she has ever visited. Glad to have you on the forum.
