So is this game basically like the Battlefield 1942 games?

Nope. It is far superior. Realistic controls. Guns sway as you try to aim, windows give you better aim, etc. You need to deploy machine guns, you can get killed by the backblast from Panzershrecks, etc. Its well worth the $5 its being sold for right now!

If you don't like this game, then let me tell you, you either don't like FPS games full stop or you have no brain...

I just finished a practice game of RO and enjoyed it (I had the high score). Still exploring the game. I'll try to get some actual screen shots up tonight.

Did you play MP or SP?

I'll most likely be playing tonight, and am pretty sure I added you all to STEAM (who shared their names).

Musso, it was a practice game and was MP. I spectated a few other games. In one there was some chat about invoking artillary support. How is that done?

yes, thanks for adding me. That night (after your post) I got the message you had added me. Thanks. And I'll do the same.

Only Officers can call in Artillery, marking the spot on the map and then using a radio-point.

In Darkest Hour, the Allies have Radio-Men (a class) armed with a SMG and a Radio, and Officers can run up to the radio-man and use his radio to call in arty, from anywhere on the field. The Radio-Man in turn protects the officers from any nearby enemy troops.

On one map, as a Radio Operator, I had 2 or 3 Officers on a ridge who would run down a little ways to 'use' my radio to call in Arty. It was pretty cool.

Give us your STEAM now and we'll add you as a Friend. Same w/ XFIRE if you have it.

Last night I played with Joe and GothikOrk.

Weekends there is usually 4 of us playing together (since the Norwegians are up).

It'd be great if you Americans were around to play with me. I'll be playing tonight for sure, around 6PM EST.

And why did you run back to the PzKpfw IV when I just planted the charges on it?

Remember that guy who after shouting at us to leave and trying to get us kicked got himself kicked by Teamkilling us? :p
