Trying to Identify this bag I found.

    I found this bag while cleaning up my grandmothers house and I'm wondering what model it is and if it was used during World War 2.

    That looks like an M-1941/43 Mountain Rucksack to me although I could be wrong.

    it seems to be a WWII desert cammo rucksack used in North africa and Italy in 1942-43

    Thanks guys. This bag was found in a barn and has been sitting in my grandmothers garage for probably a decade. I'm going to try and clean it up anything I should know about washing it. I think I might bring it to a dry cleaner.

    hello, im not sure if that's a good idea - they could perhaps damage it unknownly ......then again they might be good :confused:

    POSSIBLY a satchel for some explosives?

    How do you figure? It's got outside pockets, zippered inside pockets, what appears to be a metal frame for load bearing,nope it's a rucksack of some sort

    I don't know if the time frame fits, but could it be an ALICE backpack? The ones I've seen online look very similar.

    That is correct, 10th Mountain was based out here, and I've actually seen a few of those around
