Hello all, my name's Nate, and I'm already loving this site. My dad is in the Army, so that's always been in my blood. I first started becoming interested during my dad's second Germany tour in about 97. That's where he met a friend who really got him into collecting, and the German stuff was abundant and cheap. I still remember getting up at 4am to get to the flea market before the crowds. We moved to Fort Knox in 2000 and my dad joined up with the 4th Armored reenactors out there. He started really collecting GI and his German collecting sort of died off. After watching a public battle he was in, I knew I wanted to start reenacting myself, but at that point I was too young. A few months after 9/11 we moved out to Fort Carson, CO and have managed to stay out here for the past 7 years. My freshman year of high school was my first actual reenacting experience. Our group does not allow anyone under 16 to carry a weapon, so I had on the pack board with a couple dozen pounds of ammo on that day. Even though I was just running around the woods without a lot to do tactically, I still had a blast. Now, 5 years later, I've managed to start a small collection of my own, and this summer has been excellent for reenacting in Colorado. I'm always looking to learn what I can about the history. Oh yeah, we've got a 1943 Willy's MB now too, so we get to show her off I'm going to school at CSU now, so collecting is not financially feasible at the moment, but I have plenty of dad's stuff on lend lease haha. Well, this is turning into quite a long winded post now, so I'll wrap it up. If there are any Colorado guys interested in living history, let me know, I've got the hookups for everybody out here. -Nate

Well, my personal collection is a steel pot (fixed bale) a belt, a Brownie camera, and a Kodak film canister. I can post up some of my dad's stuff in a little bit, but I'll just try to get him to join first. And thanks for the warm welcome everybody!
