I have a query. Have any of you American citizens attempted to get access to your own LONG FORM? It is a very nasty process, and the state department only requires the short form to verify citizenship. Here is a set of links which explain both that, and have photos of the short forms. None of the past "conspiracy to put a non-citizen" in the White House hold water.
Obama was born in Honolulu, get over it guys.

We've got a black President, and he was elected legally. Vote for somebody else next time, I never liked Bush II or Cheney, but I didn't snipe at them while they were in office.

    What is the long/short form?

May I change the word "snipe" to "complain"?

That said, I certainly complained about Bush and Cheney when they were in office. I even went to Washington, D.C. and Crawford, Texas to demonstrate against them.

And I will defend to my utmost the right to do that even if Obama, who I like and support, is the victim!!

Here is a picture of Cincy Sheehan and myself in Texas. Notice the stupid look on my face! That's because I fell in love with Cindy who is nicer than nice!!

By the way! I am not short: Cindy is just tall (6'1").

You may change it (snipe) if you like, but I will hold with that word. I complained in the public forum of op.ed pieces, and the signing of petitions against policies which I found offensive. I didn't do so (or snipe) in the anonymous world of the internet. I consider that "snipeing" rather than excercising one's right to be openly critical of an official or policy.

I understand why you want to use the word "sniping" in the anonymous world of the Internet; however, as you can plainly see, I do not hide in that anonymous world!!

Here is a pretty good explaination of the differences:

    birth certificate

Here in Montana, I also have a neat little copy which is encased in plastic, and has been issued in a size with fits in my wallet. This is in addition to the short forms I have for myself and my sons in my safety deposit box.

It was a bit expensive to get, but I did it before the 911 stuff, just so I would have it for other uses. Turns out it was fully acceptable for transit into Canada a few years ago, although the Customs officer asked me if it wasn't "risky" carrying it around in my wallet since he had never seen one before. When I told him that I had other short form copies in safe keeping, he understood.

Then the same comment from an American.

If it was good enough for the Cheif Justice of the US Supreme Court then it should be good enough for the rad right.

What long forum from the hospital? I have one and only one and that was issued by the country I was born in. It was good enough to get a TS clearenace in the military.

Now how about looking at the War Heros military serive in the TX Air Guard?:D

Obama won, with out any decison haveing to be made by the USSC about uncounted ballots in FL. Better get use to the fact. You'll have him until 2016.

Half Pint, if you look at my post and open up the link the difference between Long and Short forms are explained pretty well.

    See:

    birth certificate

The Long Forms are held in the county registrar/clerks office, and accessed by the hospitals from which short forms are generated. At least that is how it works in Montana. My Long form is on file in Havre MT, Hill County, and short form, and my wallet size copies are generated from it.

PM the link to this thread to yourself, so you can call me on it.

At the rate he is going, I don't see him being re-elected in 2012.

If he is, I'll give you my full load of rep points and announce it in the forum.

I have yet to need a long form and doubt that few if any others have. The next form that I expect to get is a death certificate and I'm sure that it also well be short. If I haven't been born then I wouldn't be here now would I?:)

Too true "Half-Pint", I found that a "wallet" version was available from my county here in Mt., and sent off for one to carry with me at all times. I have copies of my own, and both sons (notorized short forms) in my safety deposit box. I have no idea what my ex has done with her's. My Long version is still held in the Hill County Registrar's Office in Montana, I can get a notorized copy of it, but I CANNOT get the original under any circumstances.

I got the wallet version when I was still buying and selling guns and cars and stuff, it just made it easier to get documentation notorized here in Montana. As to the death certificate, I really won't have need of that one, but others might!

When I got a Copy of my Birth Certificate about 15 years ago it was simply a Xerox copy with the County Recorder's Embossed seal.

5 years ago I had to provide a certified copy of my son's birth certificate on very short notice. I drove to the State Health Department and they providd me with an "Abstract" that contained all of the same information as his Birth Certificate including the signatures of the attending physician, my signature, a witness to the birth's signature and included the address of the Hospital he was born in. IT was certified by affixing the State Clerk's embossed seal to the document.

Suffice it to say that the document that I got for my son looks nothing like what was provided in the President's short/long form, even though they are similar documents.

I guess my point is that I can see where there could be doubt as to the voracity of the document. The only thing that leads me to believe that the document is legitimate is the fact that it would take enourmous brass testicles to pass off a bogus document to establish eligibility for election to the President of the United States.

I honestly do not think that he posesses the resources to enact such a fraudulant undertaking.

The bottom line should be that he was sworn in by the Chief Justice. If it was good enough for him then....

Ah, he is also a Republican.;)

Another thing that flies in the face of this "bogus" birth certificate business, is the announcement in the local newspaper of his birth, on the day he was born. That would mean that his grandmother and grandfather would have had to start thinking they would need to "prove" he was born in Hawaii so he could run for public office. ON THE DAY HE WAS BORN!

When the silly starts to pile up, it is most likely the simple answer is the correct one. No conspiracy, no long term falsifications, just born in Hawaii to the parents listed, on the day listed.

exactly my point........he has obviously been vetted at the highest levels and I seriously doubt a bunch of Monday morning Nancy Drews are going to find anything incriminating enough to begin impeachment proceedings.

That being said: Why does the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court have a political affiliation and why is a Bible used in the ceremony?

Why not have the White House Janitor swear him in using the telephone directory for Cedar Rapids Iowa ?
