Thank you scarface, I'm happy you liked them I would've made pictures inside the museum at the Mardasson monument, but photography wasn't allowed there. I noticed Tom Hanks too, I think it's very nice of him to donate for this monument. For all we know he could've been just another typical Hollywood star, only interested in making money out of other people's stories and efforts. It proves he's one of the good guys I'm also looking forward to his newest production, The Pacific. Although I don't know if it would ever top BoB... we'll see! PS. The rose is my personal favorite I'm really proud of it.
Great photos, Kelly. I'll echo Scarface in that it's unlikely I will ever be able to visit, so this experience helps. I was especially taken with the cemetery views. I also felt the party pictures were somehow appropriate. Out of the bitterness of war, we can still celebrate our freedom. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome and I didn't even think of the party pictures in that way, but you're absolutely right. The cemetery was really moving indeed. Even though my parents weren't even born when Battle of the Bulge happened, I got all teary when I walked along all those graves, all lined up and in such a nice scenery... it's a weird experience. I tried to imagine all these graves being actual people, and it was even more "scary", in a way. I can never begin to understand how many people gave their lives for our freedom. I salute them all! :S!
