    Here are his medals

from right to left: WWII Victory Medal + Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern campaign medal with 3 bronze service stars + Ribbon, Bronze Star + Ribbon + collar pin, Good Conduct medal + Ribbon, American Campaign Medal + Ribbon, his original dog tag (not sure how i could clean this actually without damaging it, never had to clean anything that old), 2 pins im guessing for his collar one says U.S. the other is the medical symbol/logo. (both of these are also originals) And his Lapel Pin.

I got finally out of my storage unit his original medals i had, and i only had 2 good conduct medals, and his euro african mid east medal with attachments, none of the others, though i had the 2 pins the dog tag and his original lapel pin.

Now i just need to buy a nice display case for everything, i plan to buy an extra set of the two pins, i dont put the originals in a display case

Nice collection. I have a similar set for my father (the picture is in an album in my profile.) I also managed to find a patch for the 5th Army and his sergeant stripes to put in the display as well. Make sure you show us the finished product. Great work.

How do you get the British medals from the RAF service in WW2 ? What is the UK version of the 180 and 214 forms ???

I will look through my things today..>I'm almost positive I have both of those pins...I'd be happy to mail 'em to you, as you have a use for them. They made need a little cleaning up, but at least you'd still have originals in your display case. Send me a PM if you are interested!!

Here's the one I did for my father. Unfortunately, I'm a lousy photographer. (Click on it to make it larger)

Any other great displays out there? I keep telling myself that I'll make one someday, but my stuff didn't belong to anyone I'm related to (Or any one person in fact) but I have enough to make a heckuva display case!

Luke, i think you should make a display case, maybe a general one, showing off the medals for army, or navy etc.

I would also love to see some other members displays they have made.

I thought about it...I have a pretty awesome collection of American awards. Have 4 Silver Stars, 3 Bronze Stars with Valor V's, 6 Meritorious Bronze Stars, 1 Purple Heart, Several WWII Victory, Campaign medals for Europe and Pacific, German Occupation, and currently have 14 Combat Infantry Badges. I'd need a decent sized frame.
