I have always been interested in purchasing Militaria but just don't know where to look. I was also wondering how can I be sure of the Authenticity of something that I find say on ebay?

    Thanks in Advanced.

    Hello Connell91,

if you have the time you might check (read through) the below thread in the Forum section termed "Military"

What are your newest Militaria purchases II?

There are a lot of very knowledgable people and collectors there who also are discussing in regards to your question.

Don't ask Carl - this fellow even trades German Imperial items for German WWII stuff :D:D..... just joking okay - Carl is very knowlegable.

    Regards
    Kruska

ebay! better to get advice from forum members than risk your luck on ebay, not that you wont find something original there, but too many copies/fakes,best to wait for advice...

Hi Noob, there are some good knowledgable folks here you but, in might also want to invest in several reference books as soon as possible before diving in or you will get taken. What exactly are looking for? I can perhaps steer you in the right direction as well as give a few dealsers names out that ive bought from for at least 10-12 years now.

Kruska is one of the guys here who knows everything about Third Reich stuff but absolutely nothing about Imperial  Just kidding of course ;-)) Actually, K/ can help you much on Imperial, Hucks, Herr and others as well as I-can help out on the WWII stuff.

I love garage sales and flea markets. You get the stuff first hand from Opa's attic. Of course you have to be careful, but non professionnal militaria sellers often have small treasures they are not aware of, and will sell them for almost nothing if you know where to look.

I'm really looking for anything. I just think having a part of history is just cool. I live on long Island and a town not to far from me (Levittown) was built basically for the veterans coming home so I'm going to go to a few garage sales over there because I know an uncle of mine used to do that and he would find pictures and books and stuff as well as other cool stuff.
