Hello I am the Grandson of an executive officer from the 16th IR H co 2nd Bat.
I have been doing research for many years and have been trying to find the location of several places I have in a collection of photgraphs, and possible leads to more information on my Grandfathers group.

Captain Anthony Joseph Prahl 01310302 H compnay XO and forward observer

I have exausted many many resources IE the Official ones and have in my years of research discovered many indiscrepancies in the Offical Histories.

My hope is to one day finish my research and do a then and Now book with bio's on the men involved and the places they were.

I hope my experience here will be more fruitfull than some other fourums I have been on and I am sure I will be meeting some people I have met before online and on my travels around europe!

    Cheers All
    Jordan aka Lt. Prahl

Here is a Photo of Grandfather in Nurneburg in 45.. I am still not quite sure what they were doing there if it was an award cerimony or what I am wating on sending some photos to one of the surviving Officers from HQ co 2nd Bat who was the Operations officer and great friends with Gramps and his crew as they were the batalion heavy weapons co.
2 H co men are cited with the DSC for actions on D-Day and 8 DSC's were awarded to H co men one reciving 2!

I have to chucle as Sammy Fuller was under my Grandfathers command several times My Grandfathers stated after seeing the Film "This is BS I was there I knew this guy personally he was a crackpot!"

    I'll check the post out.

ALSO the above photo according to several young french people I have talked to is that it appears in their history books on WW II they have in school. I have yet to see the school book.
