Here is a link, scroll down to page 89

HyperWar: History of USMC Operations in WWII, Vol. I: Pearl Harbor to Guadalcanal, Part II [Chapter 3]

The 3rd Marine Brigade was stationed on Western Samoa from April 1942- December 1943. It was comprised of 3rd Battalion 7th Marines (Infantry) and C Battery 1st Battalion 11th Marines (Artillery). There were also men from the 7th Defense Battalion in Samoa.

After garrisoning Western Samoa they were sent to cape Gloucester in Dec 1943.

You can "google" the units to find more information

    Hello Teresa!

I am on the same mission and have been for a couple of years. My Grandfather was also stationed in Western Samoa during WW2, and I only have a name. Have you had any luck?
