Hi - We ran across WWII forums while researching our book on the Bataan Death March ("Tears in the Darkness: The Story of the Bataan Death March and its Aftermath" www.tearsinthedarkness.com). We're looking forward to chatting with you and getting any feedback on the book! (The first four chapters are posted on our site, and below we've attached some of the sketches of Ben Steele, the soldier at the center of the book, and a photo of the Imperial Army General Staff - there are more contemporaneous photos also on the site). Cheers, Michael and Elizabeth Norman/sb
Welcome on tis fine forum and nice to have you with us, I'll gladly discuss about Bataan and other things with you
Hello-welcome to the forums! Writing the book must have been very interesting! Speaking of Bataan, my grandfather's cousin, Aaron Carol "Oran" Drake, was a survivor.
Welcome Michael and Elizabeth. The book looks to be a winner. I'm sure that your knowledge will contribute greatly to the forum.. We look forward to more of your posts.
Hello Michael and Elizabeth! Many thanks for joining us. You will find that this is a fine place, full of fine folk who will truly appreciate your posts. Jump right in! Cheers!
Welcome to the forum, as a fellow Montanan and an alum of MSU-B (when it was EMC) I am well aquainted with Ben Steele and his work. I enjoyed the show down at the museum, and was disappointed to learn afterward that I had missed the free lecture at the MSU-B auditorium. Didn't learn until it was over that it was even available! Ticked me off. Oh well, I have your book on "my wish list", but as I survive on a fixed income SSD check, my purchases have to be monitored with care. The hints to my kids are getting a bit thick, as I have both a birthday coming up and of course Christmas! That said, welcome and I hope your book is the success it deserves.
