My name is Penni and I am from Colorado, I am in my 40's and my father was in WWII. I grew up in Southern Colorado (Rocky Ford) and have remained in Colorado my whole life. My father died when I was 8 so I don't really remember much but I do have some photos and know he was in WWII. Most of my family are gone so I have little ability to ask direct questions. I have a picture of his platoon entitled "2nd Platoon Co. A. 54th Inf.Tng. Bn. Camp Wolters, Tex. April 1942" "Lt John B. Carr Platoon Leader" I tried getting records from the military but hit the "fire" and didn't really find much so far via the Internet. I thought that he was in New Guinea and know that he came home with Malaria and always had problems. So I'm just curious about where his platoon went, etc. I'm just starting out, so.... here it goes. Cheers
Hi, Penni. Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of knowledgeable folks around here who might be able to help. Why don't we start with any information you have on your father. What was his name? Do you know anything about his service after training at Camp Wolter? Let us know what you have and we'll see what we can discover. Good luck.
Hi Penni! Welcome to this fine place. I am sure you will enjoy your time here and that someone will be able to help you with your research! Cheers!
