Nice Pic Mate...I really like this one.

It is officially known as a:
Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf D (Sd Kfz 161)

The "D" designation is the model, hence the Ausf D.
Ausf = Ausfuhrung or Model, Mark or Design.

    There were 10 different models of the Pz Kpfw IV not including variants: Ausf A, B, C, D, E, F1, F2, G, H and J.

    Best Regards, fischer

Hi Stewy, great shot. Is there any writing on the back side?

Thanks mate and, rats ;-)) I was hoping for a chance to do some research while I am stuck all alone on Gilligans Island ;-)) Superb shot none the less. Somewhere in Western Europe (or Central Europe) for sure-and at least that's something to go on ;-))

    Nice pic
BTW Some recent books state the F2 was redesignated G mid way along it's production without any major changes, though there were lots of minor changes during the 75L43 armed Pz IV production run.

Thanks for updating this and booterhouse's threads, I hadn't seen either of them.
