Hello everyone, I am Lou Mingacci Jr. I recently was visiting with my family in Florida. My father Lou Mingacci is 83 a decorated WWII Veteran. While visiting with him we had come across a NAZI flag that was captured and given to him with 46 names written on it by the people in his unit in that day. I took the liberty of writing down those names in hopes that maybe even one would still be alive today and had remembered my dad and or what they did for so many back then. If you are or know anyone who is or are related to any of these people please contact me at : servehimdaily@yahoo.com. Attached is a photo of this flag. Below is the names of them as written in that time in the early 1940's. Thanks you. Lou Mingacci Jr. Casper S. First, welcome to the forum, Lou. It's a great place to get information and learn a few things. For starters, can you tell us what unit your father was in? With that, some of our Rogues might be able to find further information about when and where these men served. You never know what might turn up. Good luck in your quest.
Lou, Welcome to the forums! Glad you are with us... and good luck on your research. This is a wonderful place to be, and grow. Jem
If you looking to met them i can't help you there, But their stories might be with veterans history project ( Veterans History Project (Library of Congress) )if your trying to find out what they did. If you have done or interested, maybe you should recorded your dad story and put it in library of congress for later Generations and researchers to use his as a first hand account. Franz
Thanks to all of you for the info provided to me and the warm welcome to this forum. Will give feed back and my finds and also some of Dad's writings to me in his time when he served. btw I like the Patton quote James. Dad I know was a spec forces man under him then before wounded and decorated. Carried a BAR Funny how you come across new things each day also. In the loss recently of my mom I was visiting with Dad and setting up attorney meeting with an old friend who lost his father last week at the age of 86 who was at Pearl Harbor when the SOB's attacked us. Bless him and all of them. TATA for now.
