MG Eugene Landrum was relieved of command of the US 90th ID. He initially was replaced by BG Theodore Roosevelt, Jr, but he died of a heart attack before he could assume command. Ulitimately, the division when to BG Raymond S. McClain and then to BG James A. Van Fleet.
look up caffey.. i know i have been told he was not to be on utah beach but snuck in.. i think something happen at exercise tiger and he was not to be on utah.. i am not sure when all that happen but i know for sure about utah.. and pa just hated that guy.. if he sees that mans name to this day his boold will boil...
hey sandy,do you mean MG H Gaffey?,he was C.O.S.for the 3RD ARMY,then was given command of a corps,and then got the 4TH armd div,before abrams got command of that div.died in a crash after.
