Hi John, that's a healthy-looking Flak Abziechen ;-)) I have one as well which has a ball swivel hinge and is an early war made piece. I forget who the maker was? and I don't have it handy to tell--but yours is a great piece ;-)) Mine is made of Nickel-Silver. I got this badge only because it matched my Assmann made Pilots badge in guality, earlieness as well as the general looks of the metal itself. Its a perfect match with my pilots badge and you could almost swear that the same man earned both of these badges ;-))

Clue me in of the "Flower Wars", I never heard of them. I looked it up and it said something about the Aztects--don't think they gave any medals :)

Hi Buten, the "flower wars". These campaigns were where the German troops were greated by the populations with flowers instead of bullets. The annexation of Austria, the Sudetenland and the Memel land. These three German speaking countries saw their future with the German homeland.
In the case of the Sudetenland, they were always part of the Austrian Hungarian empire, even though the Munich agreement, gave them over to Germany, these 3.5 million ethnic Germans wanted to be with their fellow Germans. I only have two of the three medals, but perhaps someone else can post a memel land one for you.

    regards John

Cheers Buten, John said it all ;-)) The one I want most will have to have a Prague Defense Bar on its ribbon ;-)) I still as yet don't have any of these but will have all three by sometime next year-providing other stuff doesn't become a priority. I'd also like cased examples as wel-just for the heck of it.

Hi lads and thanks for the kind words and salutes.
Carl is your flak badge by RK?
Erich, as usual you are stoking the fire mate! Your right, I will be keeping an eye out for that illusive cloth badge. Now where can I look next?
Andypants, very best of luck getting that grouping back together mate. I sincerely hope you manage. Its such a shame when these things get broken up.
I almost saw the Limbacher group blown apart, before I purchased it. So, the very best of luck to you mate.

    best wishes John

    Hi John

Nice Luftwaffe Flak, congrats on getting that one. It's in lovely shape. I like the tombak made ones as well and have one example in my collection.

Here is my unknown maker ball hinge.

    Best Regards, fischer

PS. Have any Heer Flak badges?

Oh my, that's like the one I found in a Normandy house when I was a child. Unfortunately I did not dare to take it with me and it might still be there... What a beauty .

Hi Fischer, yours is also a beauty. It's exactly or almost exactly like mine (from what I can see and not having mine in hand)-ball hinge and all cept mine is a two piece with rivets. I don't have mine handy to see who the maker is? Il try to remember to look at mine later, as it is maker-marked.

Hi Fischer, that is one heck of an outstanding example. I have one of these too, an early make but I dont recall who the maker is on mine. I THINK it was one of the makers that were in Vienna?? I THINK??

Hi everybody, thought I would post my unmarked Souval Panzerkampfabzeichen in Bronze. I always liked their eagle on these PABs.
The badge has a curious copper colour in some places, such as the veins of the leaves, the eagles feather high points and a couple of outline details on the tank body but overall a dark bronze finish. Height and width are 59.92mm and 41.83mm with the eagle and swastika measuring 24.29mm.
The pin to the reverse measure 1.52mm
Thanks for looking, sorry I got carried away with the measuring!

    best wishes John

    Thanks for the reply's guys...;)

Here is my Hermann Aurich Flak. Pictures of this badge in wear can be seen mostly awarded to Waffen SS troops. This comes from the guy who wrote the book on Flak badges.

Stewy knows more about it than I do.

    Here is my favorite.

    Best Regards, fischer
