Interesting choices...but why no mention of Hitlers Death? I think that is perhaps one of the greatest mysteries - where is his body, afterall.
very intresting ray, but it makes you wonder how many more mysteries of both world wars are yet to be discovered
I think there are some surprises still to come as files are unsealed by various governments over time. A few may be major in scope, although I expect most will be minor, and applicable to individual's histories that have not been able to be told in full.
Great read, a majority of those were new to me! I'm surprised the "Antarctic Base" isn't mentioned either.
Good post Ray ...salute ! amazed to read the story of Dutch 'red' resistance fghter Miss Hannie Schaft in there too. Seen her grave in the Dunes near Bloemendaal many times . That's a real nasty piece of Dutch history many people with a black past here would love to forget about . Like Mrs Schaft many more brave people paid for that treason with their lives . Its not just about a bad police force ..it goes way further than that . What makes it particuly painfull is that our own gouvernment always had refused to have it officialy investiged and instead only tried to close the lid on this one as hard hard as they could by being extremely uncooperative to any investigations . Nice way of saying thank you for risking your life for our country , she would have been honoured with the highest award in any other country ..but not here though . For people interested what the case is really about I can advise to look for a movie called 'Het meisje met het rode haar ' or 'The Girl with the Red Hair ' from 1981 by Ben Verbong .
Rommel's treasure... oh please! I don't believe that... Rommel's involvement with the July 20 Conspirators is more a mystery than the story of these supposid treasures. For Rommel, his treasures were to capture Cairo and defeat the British in North Africa... and unfortunately for him that treasure was out of reach. Anyway, Good site though. Suzie
you never can tell suzie..story is fascinating,if true?,but is it! Tracking Nazi gold-hunter (From Oxford Mail)
