I wrote for my Dad's service record on Nov. 5, 2009. I still have not heard back. Do they send back a notice if they can't find anything? Would it be wise to write again? Thanks for any advice.

it takes a few moths sometimes, but call them because they can look up the request to tell you the status.

They should have contacted you within three months, and yes, they will tell you if the records were destroyed. I understand they have improved their response in the last couple years. So, call or send another request and explain that the other must have been lost in the mail (it does happen). They have always been pretty prompt. Good luck.

Yea, they were quick with my request, but i also hounded them the monday of the week and the friday so i think they got sick of me lol. But tuesday definantly give them a call to find out about the request. One time i had sent a letter to a different place waited like 2 months and then found out they never got it.
