Guys, I'm looking for medals to add to my pretty small collection of WWII memorabilia, and if any of you know any sites that sell and ship them, or are in possession of WWII medals or awards yourselves perhaps, then please let me know. I'll settle for any kind of info on the subject If there are any Russians out there that know anything about the sale of medals in Moscow, or around the area, your help would be invaluable as well. Thanks in advance. Tovarisch.
have a look at this u.k. site it'll give you some idea of prices here tovarisch..ray.. GERMAN WWII MEDALS BADGES AND INSIGNIA
Pretty hefty cash, but I should think it's worth it. There was a Kriegsmarine clasp there worth 1,200 (!) pounds. Cheers for the info! I appreciate it.
By the way, do they actually deliver the medals and stuff? Because I might get ripped off, you never know
Have you tried Ebay? It's where I got mine. Russian medals, Original Period Items, Reproductions. Great deals on eBay!
Shipping is mosttime considered buyer's choice ..I buy a lot all over europe and just have it sent as a signed post or package . Hardly ever encounter a problem by mail services , but , what you see on pics isnt always what you get , idd ask for good pictures of the actual object always ,some sellers do think theyre o so smart placing pics of other (but similar) objects . Here you call that a scam but in some countries people see it as doing good commerce so beware . Another thing to keep in mind when you buy something 3rd reich in germany ,you will not be allowed to ship it back as german law explicitly forbids that ..when you are outside of the EU you'll find many dealers refuse doing business .
Right, so technically it's illegal? I mean, I bought some medals and Third Reich stuff in England, in London to be exact, and nobody said was against the law or anything... the place was filled with Nazi memorabilia, I mean, Portobello road, Camden market, couple of other places, they've got specialized stores even. So in Germany it's illegal, as I understand, whereas in England it's fine?
Well the term Nazi or the third Reich, is not an overly proud piece of history for the German people. Although the majority of German soldiers in ww2 fought with honour, the government had other plans about the populace as well as all the 'subhumans' that they considered expendable. So I would say that the Government of today would be against anything that may even look like a support of the Third Reich of ww2, they will want to distance themselves from it, I suppose you can call it a badge of shame for Germany.
I wouldnt know about the UK Towaritsj , but I have a friend who sells memorabilia on markets in Germany , he says to me officially its forbidden to sell the stuff at all in Germany .. What i understand from German law is that its allowed to leave the country , but NAZI regalia can't legally be sent back /imported to Germany . If you see ebaylike salessites the sellers all overrule the EU return right , there's always a line on the bottom of the add to remind they dont/cant take stuff back according to law .
Yeah, that's more than understandable. Neonazist lunatics can get their hands on WWII relics as well, and God knows what might happen.

I was beginning to wonder what they all were. I know all the Soviet and German ones and the Medal Of Honor and Purple Heart, but was in the dark concerning all the others.
Tovarisch, I have a large collection of military medals including German and Soviet medals. I have been downsizing my collection and if you will contact me at woodalljg at yahoo.com, I may have some items of interest. Jim
