I am a newby on here, ret USMC 1979. My father was in the army in WW11, and killed oct 23,1944, 3 days before my 3rd birthday. He was in replacement co. F, 315th Inf. 79th div killed near Embermenil france. His name was Pvt Silas J.T. Brasher. My stepfather had his knee cap shot off shortly after , they were in the same outfit, only I believe he was in Co. B. My step father is still alive at 94 yrs. His name is Loyd L. Mehaffey. I joined the Marine corps on my 17th birthday, spent 2 tours in Viet Nam, and was wounded there. I wanted to say that I have always considered WW 11 men my heros and always enjoy talking to them, although my stepfather will not say much about the war , I dont think he has ever gotton over it . God bless all you guys.Martin Brasher

    Welcome Martin,

Thank you for your service to this country, it is appreciated by my family.

Also, please extend my gratitude also to your stepfather for what he did during the war.
