Identify this German cap please

    Can someone help me identify this cap please. I purchased it at a garage sale many years ago for $8.00, because I thought it would look cool hanging from my Harley. I all but forgot about it until it turned up while I was cleaning out the attic. It is in outstanding condition. Please tell me if this is WW2, Rare, and approx collector value. etc. Thank you in advance. Nicholas

    Looks like sort of a post-war design, Bundswehr type. Notice the lack of swastikas on it. Nothing rare about it. I'd say that you got your money's worth for it though.

    Thats a post Nazi Germany hat. It's a (West German) Bundeswehr heer cap. So if this cap is authentic it's from 1955 on. Today's heer uses berets, so it proably from before the reunification of Germany.

    But I cannot not determine if this is a real cap or not..

    I confirm the is a Bundeswehr cap and it's worth about 15$ in surplus shops, so 8 is a good deal.
